What is Fashion Designing? 

Fashion Designing is the art of applying design, aesthetics and specialisation to clothing and its accessories. The fashion designer begins with an idea of how a garment should look, turns that idea into a design (such as a sketch), and specifies how that design should be made into an actual piece of clothing by other workers (from pattern makers to finishers). The category of fashion designer includes people at different levels of the fashion business, from well-known couturiers, to anonymous designers working for commercial ready-to-wear houses, to stylists who might make only small modifications in existing designs. Fashion designers hold a special place in the world. 
Their talent and vision not only play a major role in how people look, but they have also made important contributions to the cultural and social environment.

 Fashion Designing Eligibility Criteria :

Aspirants who have cleared their 10+2 from any stream (Science/Commerce/Arts) can pursue a Fashion Design course at the graduation level. However, most popular Design colleges allow candidates to take part in their admission process only if they have completed their schooling from a recognised board. To pursue such a course at the postgraduate level, design graduates are preferred but aspirants from other courses/streams can also apply. 

How to be a Fashion designer?

 In order to become a fashion designer one should consider pursuing a bachelor’s degree in design. Some popular courses that candidates can pursue in design to become a fashion designer are – BDes in Fashion DesignBachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech)BSc in Fashion Design, Fashion Merchandising etc. Apart from these courses candidates can also pursue Fashion Design courses at the PG level like Master of Design (MDes)Masters of Fashion Technology (MFTech)and the likes.
